Plugs

Screw plugs, also known as wall plugs or Rawl plugs, are a proven way to achieve a secure fitting when attaching items to masonry walls, whether brick or stone. They should not, however, be used on plasterboard walls because there are special fixings for this purpose. Screw plugs work by expanding securely against the sides of the hole that is drilled. This enables them to create an extremely tight-fitting hold on the screw, preventing it from coming out of the wall Ordinarily, A screw alone would not remain securely in place in masonry however, we do offer a range of masonry screws which do not require a plug.

Screw plugs are extremely easy to use and provide excellent results. They are often used for hanging shelves, lights, cabinets, and mirrors. Here at Mill Timber Direct, we stock a range of screw plugs in different colours, hole sizes, and screw sizes. Each is designed to hold a certain weight, so it is important to ensure that you opt for one that is suitable for both the item you are hanging and the type of wall you are hanging it on.
