Rubber Roofing

Rubber Roofing has become an increasingly popular choice for anyone who wants an instant roofing solution for a flat roof. Using rubber roofing instead of traditional felt roofing has many advantages: felt flat roofing can easily sustain the growth of moss and algae, which can look dirty and unsightly whereas moss cannot grow on a rubber roof so it remains much cleaner for longer. Furthermore, rubber roofing can last far longer (up to 30-50 years), withstand much more extreme weather conditions than a traditional felt flat roof and will not crack, blister or rot.

Here at Mill Timber Direct, we stock Firestone RubberCover roofing which is based on an EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) synthetic rubber membrane. EPDM is made up of recycled materials, making this rubber roofing a very sustainable and environmentally friendly roofing option and one of the most eco-friendly roofing options available on the market today.

Rubber roofing which is made from EPDM is also extremely flexible and lightweight and can be much easier to install than traditional roofing materials. RubberCover is sold by the metre square and is cut to length. There are 3 available widths (3.05m, 4.57m and 6.1m) and may need to be cut to size. An overhang is required and customers are responsible for providing the correct size.. With this ease of installation, roofing this way can be a home improvement project which you can complete by yourself. However, if your roof is not completely flat or has window lanterns or vents, it may be advisable to seek professional advice before fitting.

After you have selected your rubber roofing supplies, our expected delivery time is usually 3-5 working days (subject to confirmation). We can also supply everything else you need for your roofing project, including contact bonding, gutter edges, curb edges, trims and all fittings. We can also offer free delivery of your rubber roofing to selected locations if your order is over £480.

Rubber Roofing FAQs

What is Rubber Roofing?

Rubber roofing is an extremely effective way to cover a roof area, defending it against leaks. It is made of environmentally friendly synthetic rubber membrane, which offers superb flexibility, durability and a long lifespan of more than 50 years. Waterproof and resilient, it can cover areas that traditional asphalt can't. Rubber roofing comes in sheet form for easy installation.

Is Rubber Roofing Easy to Install?

The good news is that it's pretty easy to install rubber roofing, even if you aren't a DIY expert. There may be some challenges if the area includes any features such as vents, skylights, or pipes, but it's straightforward to achieve a great result if you take your time and plan the project before you begin.
